Driver’s Holiday

Entertaining, fun and light hearted

Tourism in Bali in the 70s was in its infancy as was Albert Driver’s employment as a tour leader.

After a confidence boost stemming from his time with lovely Bethleen Steele, and the help of Sudi (his beautiful Balinese assistant), Albert led a motley group of Australian salesman on a life-changing tour.

A beautiful but mysterious island, the group had to overcome disease, unhappy deities and bursts of undisciplined behaviour from some members to finish the tour.

About the Author

Bill Taylor has lived most of his life in South Australia, either in Adelaide or on Kangaroo Island. He has also spent extended times away from Australia, including in France, where this tale was first written, and in Indonesia, particularly Bali, the location of most of the action.

He first went to Bali when tourists were a novelty and children would line up to cheer motor cyclists passing through their village. Certainly not the case now. He practised as a lawyer for much of his adult life and is now retired.

He has been married for more than fifty years to Caroline, who surely must be a saint. They have two adult children and five grandchildren.

Intentional Intuition

Awareness is another way of knowing

VALE   |  Kym Stevens  | 1954 – 2024

About 12 years ago I saw a need for information regarding knowing amongst the community.

I wanted to keep spiritual learning, simple, heartfelt, loving, and practical. It started as a series of 33 flash cards.

I scrapped that format recently realising that just opening a page to a step and reading was how I had been reading for about 9 years!

I became distracted by life and other practicalities which put the book and its development on hold (I believe I was waiting for world events to rekindle the book’s purpose).

So here it is!

About the Author

Kym was a remarkable person who touched the lives of everyone he met and had an extraordinary impact on those around him. He was a source of strength and inspiration, always ready to offer support and guidance. Kym’s legacy is one of love and unwavering kindness to his family and friends.

Professionally, Kym had a varied work life, which really allowed him to gain experiences across fields that later helped him help others in so many ways. Importantly, it wasn’t his career that defined Kym. He was a devoted family member, a life partner with Christine, a father, and a friend. His generosity and compassion were evident in everything he did.

Kym grew up between Glenelg and the farm at Williams Town with his father, Rex, and Mother, Joyce. He would tell stories about life on the farm, setting rabbit traps, and working with his dog.

One of Kym’s proudest recent achievements was writing his books on intuition and soul mates. The first has now been published – details can be found on this page. The latter is being helped by family toward completion sometime in 2024.

These books combine his various lived experiences and some traditional science understandings, which are underpinned and elevated by spiritual guidance and interpretations of life. They aim to help people find their way. Kym considered these books to be part of the legacy he wanted to leave with all of us, and we are all the better for him doing so.

How the Rich get richer while the Poor stay poor

A philosophical deconstruction of the Australian taxation system and its principles

Our Australian taxation system is an impressive clockwork-like machine with its origins in pre-Victorian times; designed on pre-Victorian principles and with pre-Victorian efficiency. Its workings today, even though falling far short of what is needed in this electronic age, are kept in working order at great expense to the Australian Community.

The author for 34 years was just a worker in Maintenance tasked with keeping everything running as previously. All his pleadings for updating and improving existing plant and functions were met with a glazed silence and just ignored. Instead he made notes of his observations and described in detail the issues causing concern and how a particular function might be made to work more efficiently or, in many cases, retired from service.

This book might easily be taken for a report by a Royal Commission set up for the purpose of looking into and reporting on its inequity, its inefficiency and its complexity. But such Royal Commissions and enquires were held and even examined the issues just mentioned but were unable to formulate the findings and recommendations our author makes in this book.

About the Author

At 12 Mike Pedrana wanted to be a poet. ‘It’s not just the poetry but the poets themselves I could relate to. The more I read about them, their genius, their madness, their poverty, their escapisms, their exile, and their suicides, the more I knew I was one.

Anyone can write a poem. But not everyone is a Poet’. (Phone Interview | Roebourne Prison 1991)
