The Seven Stories we tell Ourselves

Through all the events of our lives, we take the “facts” and arrange them into narratives that we tell ourselves.

Did you know we only have 7 basic stories from which to create these narratives?

And you can choose your narrative. But there are consequences
to the narrative that we tell ourselves. Each narrative has a pathway to resolution, a direction we must take. Each narrative can either serve us or hinder us in finding contentment and control in our lives. We can choose our narrative actively and therefore have control over our lives or we can allow ourselves
to choose subconsciously and accept the consequences of this.

The Seven Stories We Tell Ourselves provides a framework for understanding how we are telling our stories to ourselves.
It shows us the alternatives available for us to change our narratives and how we must proceed within our lives toward resolution of our daily conflicts and struggles. It is filled with inspiring stories and examples as well as tools to help us become the captain of our own ship, to be in charge of our own lives and to LIVE CONSCIOUSLY.

Crushing Crohn’s

Some people view chronic illnesses like Crohn’s as a lifelong prison sentence.
Initially, I, too, shared that belief. I was dealt a bad medical hand at the age of eighteen and had to ‘shuffle the deck’ in my favour. In time, I discovered actions that led to a life free of medication. It’s highly unusual to hear of someone who has defeated severe Crohn’s disease and wrote a book about their experience – not that one should brag about their bowel habits or any other ritual that involves a toilet. Years of trial and error led to six simple principles that apply to crushing Crohn’s and reaching your goals. This book shares my journey with the reader, from symptoms, diagnosis, experimentation, to remission. It’s time to turn the tide and wake up to our inflammatory world. A change is coming, and it all starts with what we put in our mouths.

Legacies

Mickey and Katie share a strange bond; Mickey’s abuse of alcohol and drugs almost costs his life, and Katie’s alcoholic demon is Bob, her father and abuser.

As Mickey faces his mortality, he questions his sexuality, a battle he thought he’d won in his relationship with Jamie. When their one-year liaison crumbled, so did Mickey.

Katie fears her father’s threatening presence, always hyper-alert, her hands a daily reminder of his propensity for evil.

Soon, Mickey must face the women in his life – his sister who outed him, and his mother, who rejected him. Then another death rocks his world, and Mickey must seriously explore who he is and assume responsibility for his life.

On Katie’s 25th birthday, she must confront her fears and make vital decisions about her future, including the “blood money” inheritance that she doesn’t want, but Bob does.

This is a story of two compelling quests of the mind and spirit. Mickey, seeking to find his self-identity, accept his sexuality, and own his maturity. Katie, needing to feel safe, finding her inner courage, and escaping the stranglehold of her abusive father.

Their stories will warm your heart long after the last page.

The Universal Wisdom in Aboriginal Dreamings

Is Aboriginal spirituality an echo from the past, a secretive and elusive enigma few non-indigenous people can genuinely experience? Or is it a timeless and definitive call for all humankind to seek reconciliation and harmony with each other, our mother Earth, and the Universal Essence in everything?

These and many other existential questions are examined in this enlightening and insightful book. Inspired by the spirit of Uluru and the inner recognition of our interconnectedness with the totality of life, it takes the reader to the heart of indigenous cultures, illuminating the essence and purpose of being human.

Drawing on a lifetime of practical experience seeking veracity in traditional and gnostic wisdom, the author explores the relevance to all humanity of the Universal Wisdom in Aboriginal Dreamings. With its fearless and revolutionary interpretation of Western religions and Aboriginal Dreamings, this book challenges traditional presumptions and prejudices and articulates an imperative and liberating perspective on life and spirituality.

If you feel the necessity of a revolutionary change in consciousness, this book will inspire and assist your journey of self-discovery with radical and meaningful consequences.

Whatever your perspective on love, life, and the universe, this profound book will change you!

About the Author

The Age of Aquarius brought tumultuous changes to the world of the 1960s and ’70s. The resulting changes in consciousness reached every corner of the globe. As children and adolescents, we quickly discovered life was no longer bound by the axioms of truth and reality from times now past.

Some made their peace with this new reality and, satisfied with the ‘new’ status quo, felt no urge to seek a deeper meaning or purpose in life. Those more sensitive to the vagaries of life felt called to a new worldview and, driven by an urgent and unquenchable thirst for inner peace, wrestle tirelessly with the existential questions of life.

Being the latter kind, I share my experiences of this search, that it might help others on that path.

About the Author

Christina (not her real name) is a typical Australian woman, raised by loving, middle-class Christian parents, however her story is anything but typical. Despite her Christian upbringing, her longing for a deeper spiritual connection and unconditional love caused her to make questionable life decisions throughout her search.

My reason for writing this book is not for self-promotion or money, but hopefully to empower other women (and men) who want to free themselves as I did. I just wish I had read something like this when I was young… I would have made very different decisions!
