Marching with a Broken Shadow

The passage from birth to death is a journey that binds us all…

In this debut anthology entitled Marching with a Broken Shadow, readers are invited to embark on that journey; delving profoundly into their innermost thoughts and prevailing feelings – from the deepest and darkest layers of hurt and confusion, to the most hypnotic forms of happiness and dream.

Take the quest with the central character, and look forward to exploring, with reminiscence and wonder, the voyage that we call life, the ending we know as death, and all that lies in between.

About the Author

Dyson began writing poetry after studying William Blake in Year 12 Literature. By 2015 his poetry had become a means of catharsis and reflection as he cared for his sick mother.

Discovering her hidden poems after she passed away in 2017, Dyson began to write with the intention of producing a thematically linked and conceptually realised body of work – this work is what became Marching with a Broken Shadow.

Now, with a penchant for writing and storytelling, Dyson aims to continue to produce artistic and thought-provoking material, and is busily completing his follow up project entitled Stories Heard From the Hearts Whisper.

The Clock Keeps Ticking

Having to throw a lot of punches for protection was a way of life in the Navy! Survival depended on how willing I was to stand up to a culture that left many unable to defend themselves. I did a lot of the heavy lifting for them. My experiences in the Navy taught me about not backing down and letting others walk over me. Of course, this comes at a price, mentally, physically and emotionally.

I had to create ways to not only survive, but to prosper. The lessons learnt in the Navy certainly stayed with me through relationships and business and it came with good times and bad times.

This book is about coming from nothing and ending up in a reasonably good place. I’m not quite at peace with myself yet; I’m a work in progress and I’m looking to turn the next page and see what awaits. Read this book and learn how I survived, what drove me and how I keep moving forward.

The Clock Keeps Ticking. Tick, Tick, Tick.

Oh No! Mummy’s Cooking Vegetables Again

Just when Bianca thought she was a clever little girl not eating her vegetables, an unexpected friend shows up…

Will Bianca ever eat her vegetables?

About the Author

Born in Melbourne, Victoria Sandra was raised by two Italian migrant parents who immensely valued education. As a result, Sandra’s childhood was immersed in both English and Italian literature and from a very early age she knew that she would become a secondary school English teacher. This vocation would provide the platform to impart and instil a love of reading and the written word upon all students entrusted in her care.

Further, Sandra has always been an avid reader with a flair for imaginative writing and a passion for fine art which has inspired her to write her first children’s book. As a mother of two daughters, she values the importance of providing her children with a healthy balanced lifestyle. Sandra was inspired by the famous portrait head painting “The Greengrocer” by the Italian painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo. Her vision was born from this inspiration, compelled, and moved to write a story to assist parents throughout their journey, evoking a true sense of enjoyment for children when eating their vegetables.

Hunstanton, Kings Lynn and West Norfolk

The W. E. Daw Collection

Cliff has many warm memories of visiting his grandmother’s house in Walton-on-the-Naze while growing up. There, he spent many hours exploring boxes of photographs, old postcards, glass plates, sketches, and tinkering with old photography equipment.

He later learned that these items were part of his great-great grandfather’s collection, William Edward Daw (W. E. Daw), who played a key role in the rise of amateur photography in King’s Lynn. William Edward Daw worked to capture the scenic coastline of West Norfolk, particularly the areas around Hunstanton, with its sandy beaches, cliffs, and charming villages.

Through this wonderful collection of personal photographs, postcards, and sketches, Cliff is proud to be able to bring you this unique book which celebrates the history of the region.

Within and Beneath my Heart

Within and Beneath My Heart is about my most deepest feelings and emotions.

They are a window into my soul of love, hurt, life, destiny and dreams.

I find it so easy to write these feelings and express my thoughts as poetry.

All the words I find so difficult to say in person.

They are a reflection of who I am as a woman, mother, friend and lover.
