I’ll Give it One Week

Did you know that your body is always talking to you, and you have the innate ability to find freedom from pain and suffering?

The messages are always there, we just don’t often pay attention to what they’re saying. When was the last time you sat silently and listened to what your body was really trying to tell you, before grasping for a pain killer or quick fix solution.

In her younger years Emma struggled with severe mental illness and was being treated for depression, anxiety, PTSD, panic attacks and suicidal ideation. Struggles so severe that Emma even attempted to end her own life. Then Emma’s life took an even more dramatic turn when she was diagnosed with a degenerative spinal condition which in addition to leaving her mostly bedridden with limited mobility, led to her suffering from chronic pain for much of her 20s.

I’ll Give it One Week! is a intimate account of Emma’s personal journey and also a step by step program that you can follow to kick-start a new journey too. This book and program is suitable and recommended for anyone wanting to make positive changes, go inward and work on themselves, to discover not only their true self but the limitless potential to self-heal.

About the Author

Christina (not her real name) is a typical Australian woman, raised by loving, middle-class Christian parents, however her story is anything but typical. Despite her Christian upbringing, her longing for a deeper spiritual connection and unconditional love caused her to make questionable life decisions throughout her search.

My reason for writing this book is not for self-promotion or money, but hopefully to empower other women (and men) who want to free themselves as I did. I just wish I had read something like this when I was young… I would have made very different decisions!

Oz, Becoz!

This book is basically an Australian’s autobiography origins, personal growth, and development, including living with schizophrenia medication, ie “how I survived the baby boom.” My philosophical thoughts, protestant Christian Bible interpretation, and descriptions of my travel experiences are on display, mingled with “good humour.”

Never really an “Ocker,” I have always had a love of our English language: it’s always a surprise, its rules always mysterious and rhyming poetry is a wonderful challenge. Describing our world is best kept simple. I do like Kipling, for example, but here is my own style of Poetry, using rhyme, rhythm and colloquial English.

About the Author

He has sought, from ninety-nine,
His “one” to save, His choice , not mine; We cannot earn His Grace divine.
It’s long ago He planned a line

Of people He would call “elect,” It’s not the way you would expect; It’s all “on Him” – we have no say – Not “what we do,” “He is the Way!”

Our Jesus died for all our sin, Atonement made, “to let us in,” And only He could qualify –
God’s Son that they would crucify.

To prove all this, He rose again,
To live in Heav’n, eternal reign:
This completed, saving us,
We want to spread the Word – It’s thus:

No other “faith” a future gets, New bodies for us, no regrets; To worship Him, how wonderful, He’s ev’rything, “His cup is full!”

Eluding Sylvia, Chasing Poe

A choose-your-own-adventure prose, poetry and imagery journey from inside the mind of a bipolar-disordered human. One critic said it was like Alice in Wonderland on Lithium; psychedelic yet ordinary.

The book’s written content is a collection of lyrical poems, microstories and prose with the addition of illustrations, photographs and insights in a ‘choose your own adventure’ concept. Each adventure contains a different facet of the symptoms of the Bipolar illness using role play with different mood characters. With the use of this method, it has given the power back to the reader to choose their mood. This displays the relentless lack of choice within the sufferer of the illness.

The author/artist was once a ‘New Poet’ (Friendly Street Poets, 2010) and contributor to ‘Mad, Sad Words’ (Joseph Dunn, 2006).

Highway To Well

This is a story about my personal journey through mental illness. I suffered from severe depression from 2012 until 2015. At one stage my illness became so acute that I became psychotic. Due to my illness, I lost three years of my life. I am sharing my story in the hope that it will not only give encouragement to others who are suffering from the same debilitating illness, but I also hope to touch the lives of the carers, friends, and families of those afflicted with such an insidious, indiscriminate disease.
