Cattle Dogs in Canberra

Meet WomBog and VishVash — Two Cattle Dogs, Endless Adventures!

WomBog (the brainy blue heeler) and VishVash (the mischievous red rocket) are two spirited Australian Cattle Dogs with a nose for fun and a tail for adventure. Together, they explore the wild, wonderful, and sometimes downright wacky places across Australia — sniffing out stories, soaking up culture, and stirring up plenty of doggy mischief along the way.

In every book of The Big Aussie Tails of WomBog and VishVash, young readers tag along as the duo uncover fascinating landmarks, meet new friends, and learn about the unique landscapes, animals, and people that make Australia so special. With playful banter, tail-wagging curiosity, and helpful notes at the end of each chapter, this charming series invites kids to discover Australia—one pawprint at a time.

About the Author

After spending 20 years as an infantry officer in the Australian Army, Pat became an executive consultant with his own company fixing projects and business problems, and still does.

Much of this book was written over ten years ago when he lived in Canberra. Unfortunately, it fell into a long pause as he got consumed with work and his family got consumed in their own lives.

But with the arrival of grandchildren and with both WomBog and VishVash getting older, he decided to resurrect it as a gift to his grandchildren and other family members so they can learn about two very special personalities who have brought incredible joy to his family for a long time.

Pat lives with his wife on a small rural property in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland that permits both WomBog and VishVash to charge around like pork chops and silly sausages, play in the dam and explore the paddocks and the bush.

If I Had A Voice

A Suite Of Songs That Will Remain Unheard

if i had a voice

i would sing outside the shower
i would lullaby my memories
i would soak up the power,
and i would speak my mind.
but i don’t
so instead i made a choice
that if i had a voice
was never one to be heard
something inside me purred
“at least it may be read”
because maybe i’d save some savaged soul instead
of bleeding them out on the drying ground
where my deceptions and brutality were found
maybe i can give them a voice
maybe they wouldn’t make that choice
so if i had a voice
id read you everything i came to realise
from dreams to memories,
reality to disguise,
and the inability
to tell one from the other.

Compendium Synthetica

A Chemical Synthesis Library

A Vade Mecum for the Modern Alchemist.

Between the hallowed corners of the laboratory, where theory dances with the experimental, a new grimoire awakens. Compendium Synthetica, transcending the mundane recipe book, emerging as an archive, a testament to the intricate dialogue between chemists and the molecule.

A library, an anthology of syntheses, a palimpsest, layered with insight as elaborate notes, gleaned from exhaustive laboratory preparation. The theoreticals fading, replaced by the empirical, cold hard facts, no more unknowns, with spectral data to verify each transformation.

A deep dive into the applications and complex mechanisms behind each meticulous dance of electron apportionment, illuminating the mysteries behind the bonding of the atoms.

Compendium Synthetica beckons the intrepid, the one who seeks not merely to replicate, but to innovate. For the modern alchemist, a map to the uncharted, a catalyst for inspiration, a lexicon for those hungry for tested truth, ones who wish not to meddle in falsehood, and misinformation.
