Magog The Frog

Australia

GREETINGS NEW FRIENDS AND FELLOW TRAVELIERS, MY NAME IS MAGOG.

I am a proud Queenslander and a curious tree frog.

There is so much of Australia which I am yet to see, and I’m off on a journey; would you like to come with me?

Magog is a curious tree frog who sets off from his home in sunny Queensland to explore the world around him. He boards planes, trains and ships to traverse Australia from east to west. The melodic rhyme coupled with bright and captivating images, ensure the reader is both entertained and educated.

The hope of the author is that through Magog’s adventures, children will learn about the unique places of Australia and that the seed will be planted for many explorations of their own. In the words of Magog himself, ‘thank you friends for joining me on this quest around my land, I hope this has inspired you to have your own trips planned!’

Cattle Dogs in Canberra

Meet WomBog and VishVash — Two Cattle Dogs, Endless Adventures!

WomBog (the brainy blue heeler) and VishVash (the mischievous red rocket) are two spirited Australian Cattle Dogs with a nose for fun and a tail for adventure. Together, they explore the wild, wonderful, and sometimes downright wacky places across Australia — sniffing out stories, soaking up culture, and stirring up plenty of doggy mischief along the way.

In every book of The Big Aussie Tails of WomBog and VishVash, young readers tag along as the duo uncover fascinating landmarks, meet new friends, and learn about the unique landscapes, animals, and people that make Australia so special. With playful banter, tail-wagging curiosity, and helpful notes at the end of each chapter, this charming series invites kids to discover Australia—one pawprint at a time.

About the Author

After spending 20 years as an infantry officer in the Australian Army, Pat became an executive consultant with his own company fixing projects and business problems, and still does.

Much of this book was written over ten years ago when he lived in Canberra. Unfortunately, it fell into a long pause as he got consumed with work and his family got consumed in their own lives.

But with the arrival of grandchildren and with both WomBog and VishVash getting older, he decided to resurrect it as a gift to his grandchildren and other family members so they can learn about two very special personalities who have brought incredible joy to his family for a long time.

Pat lives with his wife on a small rural property in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland that permits both WomBog and VishVash to charge around like pork chops and silly sausages, play in the dam and explore the paddocks and the bush.

Bot Camp

Time to kick bot!

Twelve-year-old Daniel is obsessed with combat robotics — because duh, who isn’t? So when his plucky lifter-bot snags him a spot at Bernard Barker’s legendary Bot Camp, Daniel short-circuits with excitement. Meeting his tech-innovator hero will be a dream come true!

His mom says he should try to make friends, but Daniel won’t have time for that. Bot Camp is a high-voltage competition and only one kid will win the ultimate prize: becoming Bernard’s apprentice.

Unfortunately, from the moment Daniel steps into the fully automated, AI-powered training complex, nothing goes to plan. The other participants are brilliant, but Daniel’s teammates are totally useless. He’ll never impress Bernard at this rate.

So while the others relax for the night, Daniel convinces his team to sneak into the workshop to fix their bot. But when the labyrinth-like facility mysteriously goes into lockdown, Daniel finds himself in real danger and only his teammates can help.
