Nan’s Garden

Nan’s Garden is written tenderly through the eyes of a young child, growing to a young adult. It recounts her beautiful impressions of a bush garden, its gradual decline in drought and the loving memories of her grandmother.

Nan found that change and faith bound her to the garden and its creator, God.

Bright, whimsical abstract illustrations allow the reader to connect emotion through colour.

About the Author

Nicole was born and raised in the small country town of Walgett in North West NSW.

She grew up with a passion for reading, writing and all things creative. Nicole lives with her husband, Jason and their two children, Jacob and Maree.

Nan’s Garden was a creation based around Nicole’s mother, Susan. Her love of gardening soothed life’s ups and downs, but change, uncertainties and drought, fought its survival.

Sail Away

A collection of maritime themed poems and short stories, accompanied by the authors photography and the artwork of John Ford and Jamie Comyn (mum).

About the Author

To date, I have spent seven and a half years on the ship, obtained my coxswains and master 24< tickets, working as a watch leader, bosun or both. Currently work at the Australian Maritime And Fisheries Academy as bosun and teacher’s assistant. Can honestly say, following my passion has been the most rewarding and fulling thing I have ever done. You haven’t lived if you haven’t followed your heart, come what may. The world is an amazing place, and so is humanity. Teaching and helping people.

Volunteering (giving of yourself is the biggest gift you can give someone or something). And, doing all this on a tall ship platform, at sea, is amazing.

I have Asperger’s Syndrome (Autism Spectrum). But I didn’t let it stop me from growing and achieving. Without it, I wouldn’t think in the unique way that I do, as it contributes to who I am, but isn’t who I am. I hope that you have enjoyed this book as much as I have enjoyed writing it, and the experiences that went into its making.

Seize the day.
