Who Can Save the Dolphins?

Ten year old Sam loves to watch the river. But her world soon changes that there are lethal dangers lurking in the water–and they are killing the dolphins. Sam and her friends could not have foreseen the impact of their quest to save the dolphins, nor the danger they were in.

Brian Gillan’s book is a realistic story of the plight of a dolphin – capturing the attention of the reader, young and old, empowering people to be more careful about the disposal of rubbish.

Dr Michele Blewit – Project Director, AUSMAP

A vivid story about how one young dolphin fell victim to a plastic bag will go a long way toward ensuring young people do not repeat the careless littering mistakes of previous generations.

Dr Mike Bossley – Marine Biologist and Conservationist

The Adventure of Mama and Me

Part proceeds of this book go to the Animal Welfare League

This is a heartwarming story about a baby rabbit, living with her mother and how she likes caring for her, gathering and preparing food, and the adventures along the way, meeting new friends and finally the anticipation of something special that’s going to happen.

About the Author

Since childhood, not being able to have a normal life, I replaced what I was missing with my pet animals mostly rabbits. I found happiness, enjoyment and the loving feeling of caring for something.

Even though the story is about a family of rabbits caring for one another, it also reflects the love and caring of my mother.

Hardy

This is a story about an Angus bull.

About the Author

Dianne was inspired to write Hardy’s story after reading a small article in her local paper. The events in the book really happened. In times of natural disasters people often feel helpless, however strength and spirit can also be found especially when love and compassion is shown by others.

About the Illustrator

Phillippa Augl was intrigued when she first read the story of Hardy and began the illustrations rather spontaneously with quick sketches. It was a good opportunity to develop new techniques and ideas. Those rough illustrations were then scanned and with a little help from her granddaughters she fine tuned them on the computer.

Phillippa loves drawing and painting. Creating pictures from words is simply fun.

My Dear Friends

My Dear Friends is a children’s book promoting friendship through the celebration of cultural diversity. It teaches inclusiveness through recognising shared interests and similarities.

A young deer named Jack only wants to invite other deer to his birthday party as he feels animals that look and sound different to him would not have any shared interests. With some encouragement from his mother he embarks on a journey to make some new dear friends.

Will Jack discover he and the other animals may have more in common than he first thought?

About the Author

Tamsin Macaffer is a mum of two (soon to be three) and first-time author of children’s book My Dear Friends.

Tamsin wrote My Dear Friends three years ago after having her first daughter, Sahara. As a mother, Tamsin wants to promote positive messages such as inclusiveness, acceptance and friendship to her children in a fun way that children not only understand but are excited by.

So, what better way than creating a story with fun, interactive animal characters that she could read to her children before bed!

It wasn’t until having her second daughter, Mila, and seeing how much both her daughters loved the book that Tamsin decided to have My Dear Friends published so that its important message can be shared with other young kids.
