About the Author

MICKIE MAGAN IS A qualified equine herbalist and bodyworker specialising in Equine Myofunctional Therapy.

Born into a very non horsey family, Mickie had to wait until she was 42 years old before she got her first horse.

Mickie has ridden most of her life since the age of four.

Many avenues of study were undertaken, and human nutrition was one she pursued for several years.

Mickie studied with a well-known herbalist and found her true passion.

After 16 years in a corporate position in quality assurance and regulatory compliance in a highly regulated industry, fuelled the fire for her to branch out on her own as an Equine Herbalist and bodyworker. During that time, she also worked for several performance and competition yards, as well as agistment properties.

Mickie developed a reputation of being able to fix gut ulceration in horses at the root cause, that helped her become well known. She manufactures a range of herbal products for horses and has clients and customers worldwide.

Mickie’s passion for natural medicine, research and learning, keeps her up to date with the newest treatment options and news.

Mickie has two off the track thoroughbreds and takes dressage lessons. At the urging of her coach, she is aiming to participate in some low-level competition next year. After this book, Mickie is working on a very exciting project that will soon be announced. There is a hint or two in the book.
