About the Author
Doriela is a passionate primary school teacher with a Master’s Degree in Teaching and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music. With over eight years of experience, she brings deep insight into the emotional and developmental needs of children. Having witnessed the growing impact of anxiety and negative self-talk, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, she felt called to create tools that speak directly to children’s hearts and minds.
This calling led to a series of affirmation books designed to nurture confidence, reduce anxiety, and encourage positive thinking. Drawing from her classroom experience and her faith in Jesus, Doriela’s stories gently reflect values such as love, courage, kindness, and gratitude, resonating deeply with children and their everyday experiences.
As the founder of Kids Affirm, she is devoted to empowering children through affirmations and uplifting resources. This mission inspired The Me Series, a growing collection of books crafted to affirm each child’s worth and foster emotional resilience through biblically inspired truths.
Beyond teaching and writing, Doriela has facilitated events supporting emotional wellbeing for women and children. Her work reflects her belief in the power of speaking life and truth into the next generation. She is a devoted mother to her daughter, Pearl, who continually reminds her of the beauty, purpose, and promise within every child’s journey.
About the Illustrator
Elijah Tan is a former cameraman who took a leap of faith to follow his passion for drawing. He now works full-time as a children’s book illustrator, creating art that’s full of heart and purpose.
As a new dad, Elijah is even more inspired to make stories come alive—both for his daughter and for kids everywhere. Through every page, he hopes to point others back to God, the ultimate Creator.
