About the Authors

Peter Corney

Rev Peter Corney is an Australian Anglican minister. For the last sixty years he has been actively involved as a preacher, lecturer, and writer.

He has served as a leadership consultant to Churches, schools and a variety of other Christian organisations and not for profits.

For 24 years he was the senior minister at one of the largest Anglican churches in Australia, St Hilary’s in Melbourne.

During these years he has recruited, hired and supervised a large number of staff. He has also been a consultant to churches and other Christian organisations on key staff appointments.

In 1995 Peter helped to initiate the Australian Arrow Leadership Program and became its first Director. Arrow was modelled on the North American program begun by the Canadian evangelist Leighton Ford. It is now one of the leading leadership enhancement programs in Australia for young Christian leaders.

Dr Byrne has been a Corporate Psychologist for over forty years.

He has consulted to some of the leading organisations in America and Australia, including: The 3M Company, General Mills, the ANZ Bank, Optus, Coles Myer, Tattersalls, the Walt Disney Corporation, Telstra, Minter Ellison, The Government of Tasmania, Phillips Fox Lawyers and many others.

He has personally evaluated over 3000 job and promotional candidates. These have ranged from board positions, CEO’s, a wide range of senior and middle management roles, technical specialists, sales,and sale management roles and entry level staff.

He developed a specialised system for screening public safety officers that has been used by most Australian police and other similar agencies.

Dr Byrne has also trained well over 2000 public and private sector professionals in the technique of selecting staff.

Dr Byrne holds Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Hahnemann Medical College, Philadelphia, PA, earned in 1977.
