About the Author
J.P. CARMODY WAS BORN and raised in South Australia, where his love of storytelling began with a fascination for Australian history, landscapes, and the resilience of ordinary people. Having spent more than twenty years serving and leading in complex, pressure environments, he has witnessed both the strength and fragility of the human spirit—experiences that continue to shape his writing.
His novels explore the invisible things we inherit—trauma, resilience, hope and the choices that shape who we become. Drawn to stories where ordinary people face extraordinary choices, he writes character-driven fiction that asks what survives when everything else is lost.
